Pilgrims from Sierra Leone will be doing the Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this year, according to the Chairman of the Presidential Hajj Taskforce in Sierra Leone.
Alhaji Murtada Mohammed Sesay disclosed in an interview that among that number are 2 medical doctors, 1 pharmacist, 2 nurses, and 3 members of the Presidential Hajj Taskforce.
He added that 60% of the pilgrims are self-sponsored, with 40% receiving government scholarships.
The President Hajj Taskforce, he said, has arranged and bargained with Ethiopian Airlines to guarantee that the pilgrims will be flown to Saudi Arabia in two groups between May 31 and June 1, 2024.
Madina, Islam's second holiest city, is where the pilgrims will arrive before continuing on to Makkah for the 1445 Hajj.
